If the face looks familiar, that's Christa Barnell's mother pictured at left. If the foot on Christa's painting looks familiar, it's because mom's feet provided the model for the painting.

The recent show of prisoner art at the Carbondale Civic Center by Carbondale Community Arts resulted in one piece being removed, since there were some complaints about the subject matter. This is it. We at Art Lovers understand the need to keep exposed breasts out of public buildings. At this writing, no paintings of exposed breasts can be found on the walls of Art Lovers gallery either, but it might be fun to hang this one on the wall for a week or two, or put it up for auction on the new Ebay store.
